Villa Tenang

Villa Tenang means serene villa in Bahasa Indonesia. My client Pam Johnson from Santa Barbara wanted a tiny haven to escape to a couple of times a year from her busy life in Santa Barbara. The rest of the year the house serves as a rental property. With a tiny budget and attention to detail we were able to work magic on the existing bungalow. The approach was to use a very restricted palette and simple materials to create a lounge friendly house. We added a new outdoor bath and created a guest nook in the living room.
